ABOUT US
OUR STORY
On May 31, 2021, 17-year-old Guy Boyd survived a gunshot wound to the head inflicted by his best friend using a ghost gun. Despite the severity of the incident, Guy persevered through nineteen days of hospitalization, with ongoing specialized medical care to this day. Following the tragic event, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with their S.U.R.E. program, collaborated with Guy's mother to establish the Gun Violence Prevention initiative known as L.I.F.E. This program emerged from a transformative tragedy and has since evolved into a platform dedicated to healing, advocacy, and the promotion of public awareness on gun violence.
